"Our trip down the Snake with Nicholas was the highlight of the trip. He guided us each in our own duckie down some fun water."
Arrive at our shop in downtown Jackson where you'll meet your expert guide and fellow adventurers. We'll get you outfitted with all necessary equipment, including your Hyside Padillac inflatable kayak (top-of-the-line boats known for their stability), Werner paddle, helmet, personal flotation device, and wetsuit or drysuit depending on conditions.
You will learn the basic paddle strokes you need to maneuver your craft including sweeps and forward strokes. Plus understanding river features like waves, eddies and what makes whitewater. Your guide will also go through a thorough river risk management overview.
We'll transport you comfortably to the put-in. Then it's time for the main event, approximately 1.5-2.5 hours of hands-on paddling through the spectacular scenery and thrilling rapids of the Snake River Canyon.
Your guide stays with you throughout the entire journey, providing coaching, encouragement, and line choice to navigate exciting rapids like Double Draw, Hair Cut Rock, Big Kahuna, Lunch Counter, Rope and more! You get to use your skills, feel the rush of the whitewater and experience the freedom and fun of your own craft.
Celebrate your accomplishment at the takeout point! We'll shuttle you back to our shop in Jackson, where you can change clothes, share stories, and browse our full retail store if you'd like to continue your paddle sports journey.
