Weather in the mountains can change at a moment's notice. However, days from June through September are ordinarily warm and dry with a possibility of afternoon showers. Nights are quite cool, and it can freeze at any time of the year. The elevation of Jackson is 6,200 feet and Jackson Lake is over 6,700 feet.
We monitor weather conditions closely and adjust plans accordingly. Sometimes this means changing routes or, in severe cases, modifying the itinerary. Safety always comes first, but we're well-equipped to handle typical mountain weather patterns.
None! Our trips are designed for beginners and experienced paddlers alike. Your guides provide comprehensive instruction before and during the trip.
Participants should be in good general health and able to paddle for periods of 2-3 hours (with breaks). The ability to get in and out of a kayak and walk on uneven terrain is necessary.
We provide all kayaking and camping gear (boats, paddles, PFDs, skirts, paddle jackets & pants, dry bags, tents and sleeping pads). Our single and double kayaks are both stable and comfortable, featuring equipment from top brands like Old Town, Werner, Wilderness Systems, Astral, Kokatat and more.
