Yellowstone Lake Overnight Kayak Tours

Yellowstone Lake is the largest lake above 7,000 ft in North America sitting at 7,733 ft. The clear waters form the headwaters of the Yellowstone/Missouri river system. Yellowstone Lake has 136 miles of shoreline to explore, so we offer 2-8 day overnight trips. On an overnight Yellowstone Lake trip, you will see Yellowstone National Park as few people ever do. We will travel into areas of the lake open only to paddle craft where there is abundant wildlife, geothermal features, amazing scenery, and solitude. Yellowstone Lake has beautiful campsites around the eastern perimeter of the lake which allow you to paddle all of the way down into the South, Southeast, and Flat Mountain arms of the lake to camp.

A kayaking trip with Rendezvous River Sports includes expert instruction and interpretation from our experienced guides and the best in kayaks and equipment. Participants will be able to choose the latest designs of tandem or single touring kayaks, that have plenty of room to take all of the great food and cooking materials we need to prepare gourmet backcountry food for our camping adventure. Custom tours are available for 2 or more - let us create your Yellowstone adventure.

Lewis/Shoshone Lake Overnight Kayak Tours

Lewis/Shoshone Lake overnight trips allow you to see parts of Yellowstone that very few folks ever experience.  Although it can be done in 2 days, this trip is a perfect 3-4 day camping trip to make sure you really get to experience the serenity of Shoshone Lake.  What makes Shoshone so special is that it is only accessible by hiking or paddle-powered craft, so the only other folks you will see have made the human-powered journey.  You will start your trip with a paddle across Lewis Lake and into the Lewis Channel (the only river open to boating in Yellowstone National Park).  After paddling up the Lewis Channel as far as water levels and currents permit, there is a section of the river that requires walking up the stream bed with a kayak in tow.  Shoshone Lake sits at the top of the Lewis Channel and is the largest lake in the lower 48 states without road access and the second largest lake in Yellowstone National Park.  On Shoshone Lake, there are beautiful campsites around the lake, abundant wildlife, amazing scenery, and a geyser basin along the lake with a primitive trail system through it.

We offer 2-4 day trips on Lewis/Shoshone Lakes.
